Hosting yourself (self-care)
As you embark on this journey, it's very important that you start by exploring what you need, as an individual, in order to be present with open mind, open heart and open will and feel ready and able to explore conflicts as you've experienced them in the past and in this moment of your life, as you move through the summit's guest speakers ideas and explore some of online live sessions.
· Can you hold space in yourself to experience potential discomfort, disagreement/conflict, pain, grief, confusion, anxiety, distress, uncertainty and unknowing or any other difficult emotion/feeling that might affect your journey's experience?
· Where in your daily life do you find support? With others, in some special places, wilderness, with the more than human realm?
Nourish yourself: a personal practice
What is your personal practice to help you to sustain your energy and full presence?
You do not have to be a mindfulness master. A practice is something you do every day or as much as you can; a moment where you intentionally slow down and take the time to reflect or be silent. To be present. Some people meditate, do yoga or pray, others walk (their dog), spend time in nature, write etc.
The limits of Summit's team support
We invite awareness that you, as a participant, are responsible for the spirit of the summit's meetings, together with all the other participants (in case you are doing this journey with a group). The summit's process can be an intense experience and it is possible that people will encounter some intense, difficult emotions, blocks, sense of stuckness. If that should happen, we advise you to care and pay loving attention, but don't try to fix anything. Everyone is responsible for their own learning experience, so trust the process that each one needs to go through and allow each to find their own way. Coming Down to Earth is an invitation to listen to each other, listen to the earth communicating with us and speak from the heart, being mindful that our collective space is inhabited by shadows and traumas seeking to be seen and healed and justice is always in the making - it's relational.
Some relevant Principles
You will hopefully be in a process of change or transformation (we always are). It is a matter of awareness and discipline to observe your own process and to organize time and attention to integrate experiences and insights, by yourself, with others in your local context or with other summit participants.
We invite you to aspire to embody the practice of this principles while participating in the summit.
