HOW TO CREATE, FIND AND JOIN GROUPS
We also have the feature of Groups forming (also in the left-hand menu bar) which are available for anyone to join. For example, there could be one for Spanish-speakers or one for parents. If you'd like to host a group of your own, first read the the next paragraph “Can I organize a group?” and then email info@conflicttransformationsummit.org
The Mighty Networks platform we’ll be using allows us to create groups. These groups can serve as spaces where you can go deeper with your experience. If you wish, you can create Topics that are specific for your group.
Groups are ideal if you’d like to build community around a commonality and want to invite any participant to be able to join. Your group can be formed out of any kind of interest. It can be based on similar geographic area (South Africa), similar cultural background (Filipina, Jewish), similar life paths (immigrant, parent), common inquiries, whatever you want. For example, we could create a Spanish-speaking/Hispanohablantes group.
If you would like to host a group, please follow these steps:
Follow the normal steps to register and create an account on Mighty Networks.
Once you have created a Mighty Networks account, email info@conflicttransformationsummit.org with:
The name of your group and the description (particularly if the name does not make obviously clear who the group is intended for)
Our Mighty Networks guru will create the group and invite you to be the host. From there, it’s all yours. It will be your responsibility as a host to invite members and do whatever you want to create further opportunities for connection and reflection. As host, you will also be able to change permissions of the group as you wish.
These groups are self-organized and the event organizers do not take any responsibility for how they operate or the conversations that happen in them.
We do not advise the creation of private or secret groups.
